Ñico's Mangoes
Ñico tries to harvest hard-to-reach mangoes from a tall tree, failing twice before Coco's bouncy spring invention saves the day, and they share the sweet reward together.

The Golden Orchard
The afternoon sun drapes the mango orchard in warm, golden light. Long shadows stretch between the rows of trees, and the sweet smell of ripe fruit fills the air. At the base of the tallest tree stands Ñico, one hoof shading his eyes, his straw hat tilted back. High above him, the branches sway with heavy, sun-kissed mangoes — glowing like little lanterns against the green leaves.

Ñico
Generous farmer, community pillar · Pig
Ñico is the heart of Veguitas — a gentle pig who tends the village garden and always has something fresh to share. Patient and warm, he believes the best things grow slowly. Whether he's harvesting mangoes or lending a hand to a neighbor, Ñico makes everyone around him feel at home.

The One at the Top
And there — right at the very tippy-top — hangs the most perfect mango of all. It is round and golden-orange, and the sunlight makes it glow like a little treasure. Ñico's eyes go wide. His mouth makes a quiet, happy 'ohhh.' He lifts one hoof and points straight up. That is the one. That is his mango.

Walking and Wondering
Ñico walks slowly around the tree, looking up the whole time. He puts his hooves on his hips. He scratches under his hat. He tilts his head one way, then the other. The tree is very, very tall. The mango is very, very high. But Ñico is a patient farmer. He takes a long, deep breath and nods to himself. He has a plan.

Up He Goes
Ñico wraps both arms around the trunk and starts to climb. Up, up, up he goes — slowly and carefully. His hooves grip the bark. He stretches one arm toward the mango branch… but it is still too far, and the branch looks thin and wobbly. It gives a tiny creak. Ñico's eyes go wide. Carefully — very carefully — he slides back down to the soft grass below. He dusts off his guayabera and thinks.

A Quiet Moment
Ñico sits on a smooth rock at the foot of the tree. He sets his hat beside him and scratches behind one ear. With a little stick, he draws swirly shapes in the dirt — just thinking. A yellow butterfly drifts down and lands softly on his hat, opening and closing its bright wings. Ñico doesn't even notice. But after a moment, something sparks behind his eyes. He stands up again.

The Bamboo Pole
Now Ñico has a long bamboo pole. He plants his hooves wide, swings it up — once, twice — and on the third try, the tip knocks a mango free! But the golden fruit flies sideways in a wild, wobbling arc, sails right over Ñico's outstretched hoof, and lands with a gentle plop in the river. It bobs once, twice, and floats away between the smooth stones. Ñico lowers the pole and lets out a long, slow sigh.
The story deepens…

Goodbye, Little Mango
The mango bobs along the sparkling river, past smooth gray stones and trailing green plants, getting smaller and smaller. Ñico stands on the grassy bank and raises one hoof in a little half-wave — goodbye, little mango. His shoulders droop just a bit. Then he takes a deep breath and turns back toward the tree. There are still plenty of mangoes up there. He just needs a better idea.

Resting Under the Tree
Ñico settles against the wide trunk and gazes up. The mangoes sway gently in the warm breeze, like they are teasing him — just a little. He tips his hat over his eyes. Then he pushes it right back up again. He is not giving up. Not Ñico. He is just… waiting for the right idea to come along. And sometimes, the best ideas arrive when you are not looking for them.
A Spark in the Workshop
Across the village, inside a cozy little workshop, Coco the tree frog is tinkering. Jars of screws and springs line the shelves. Gears and pulleys hang from hooks. Coco pauses, peers through the open window — and spots something far away in the orchard. A small, round, pink shape, slumped under a tree. That is Ñico! Coco's enormous eyes go bright. He leaps to his workbench and starts pulling out springs, planks, and a very big idea.

Coco
Inventive tinkerer, problem-solver · Tree Frog
Coco is the village inventor — a bright green tree frog who spends his days tinkering with wild contraptions in his workshop. His ideas don't always work on the first try, but his boundless energy and never-give-up spirit make every attempt an adventure. When he's not bouncing between projects, you'll find him helping friends with his latest creation.

Here Comes Coco
A cheerful rattling breaks the orchard quiet. Here comes Coco, bounding down the grassy path, pulling a little wooden cart that bounces over every bump and root. On the cart sits the most curious contraption — a wooden platform with big, fat, shiny springs underneath. Coco skids to a stop, throws both tiny arms wide, and grins up at Ñico as if to say: I have just the thing. Ñico tilts his head, and a slow smile begins to spread.

Springs and Plans
Coco crouches beside his invention and shows Ñico how it works. He points to the springs — boing, boing! He mimes shooting up into the sky with both arms. He wiggles the little lever. Ñico watches, arms folded, one eyebrow lifted. But the more Coco explains — bouncing and chirping and pointing — the more Ñico begins to nod. Slowly at first. Then faster. He trusts his little friend.
As the day unfolds…

Ready, Set…
Together, they push the platform under the tallest branch. Ñico does the heavy pushing while Coco rides on top like a tiny captain, waving one way, then the other — a little left, a little more! Coco wriggles underneath with a small wrench, tightens the springs, pops back out, and gives the platform a test hop. The springs creak with a deep, promising sound. Coco looks up at Ñico and lifts one tiny thumb. Ñico takes a steady breath and nods.
Up, Up, Up!
Ñico steps onto the platform. He plants both hooves, takes a deep breath, and holds very still. Coco grabs the lever and counts down on tiny green fingers — three… two… one! He pulls with his whole little body, and — BOING! — Ñico launches straight up through a shower of golden leaves! He rises and rises until he is eye-to-eye with the most beautiful mangoes in the orchard. His hands reach out, gentle as always, and cradle three perfect fruits against his chest. When he lands with a bouncy thump, he and Coco stare at each other — and burst into the biggest, warmest laughter the orchard has ever heard.

The Happy Dance
Ñico hugs the mangoes to his chest and breaks into a happy, stomping jig — his hooves thump-thump-thumping on the soft grass, his hat bouncing with every step. Coco flips off the platform in a wild, spinning leap and lands right on Ñico's shoulder. They bump fist to tiny fist — and the laughter starts all over again, shaking their shoulders, echoing through the golden trees.
A Golden Harvest
Now they have a system. Coco pulls the lever — BOING! — and up goes Ñico, plucking mangoes mid-flight and tossing them gently down. Coco catches each one with a hop and a spin, setting them carefully on a big banana leaf. One, two, five, ten — soon a glorious pyramid of golden mangoes glows in the late afternoon light, and the two friends step back to admire their work with proud, tired, perfectly happy faces.

The Sweetest Part
At last, Ñico and Coco settle down beneath the old mango tree, shoulders touching, legs stretched out on the cool grass. Ñico picks up the biggest, ripest mango of all and holds it out to Coco with both hooves and the warmest smile. Coco's eyes go round with surprise — for me? He takes it gently. They each bite into their mangoes at the very same moment, sweet juice running down their chins, eyes closing, the whole golden world going quiet and perfect around them. And that, perhaps, is the very best part of any harvest — sharing it with a friend.
